Suzanne Thompson: From Police Work to Entrepreneurship at 53

At 53, Suzanne Thompson embodies the spirit of resilience and determination, transitioning from a career spanning car dealerships and service in the South Yorkshire Police to entrepreneurship.

Her journey began at 19 when she embarked on an adventure, leaving England behind to embrace rural Norway's wilderness. As a waitress, she cherished the experience but eventually returned to England to ensure her son's best opportunities in life.

During her 19-year tenure with the South Yorkshire Police, Suzanne nurtured a dream—to establish her business in Norway once her son became self-reliant. Enrolling with Oxbridge, she pursued Bookkeeping studies, laying the foundation for her entrepreneurial aspirations. Her determination paid off as she realized her dream and birthed her venture, Arithmancy, empowering small business owners to maximize their potential.

Reflecting on her journey, Suzanne expressed gratitude for the inspiration gleaned from her Oxbridge experience, fostering self-belief and fortitude. Her vision for the future is rooted in supporting her family and securing an independent retirement. Presently, she relishes the challenges of entrepreneurship, envisioning a serene future managing her bookkeeping business from a quaint cottage by a Norwegian lake.

Addressing aspiring entrepreneurs in their 50s, Suzanne offers sage advice, urging them to dismiss self-doubt and embrace their worth. She advocates persevering relentlessly and leveraging support networks while fostering communication with friends for guidance and encouragement. Suzanne's journey epitomizes the triumph of determination and resilience in pursuing entrepreneurial dreams, irrespective of age.
