On This Day In Women’s History:

March 28, 1886: Clara Lemlich was born.

Clara Lemlich, a Jewish immigrant from Ukraine, labor activist, suffragist, and consumer advocate, was a leader of the Uprising of 20,000, a labor strike of shirtwaist workers in New York’s garment industry in 1909.

Style Knows No Age: A Beacon of Fashion and Wisdom

Meet Jacquie “Tajah” Murdock, the remarkable Harlem native, a former Apollo Theater dancer, and a true fashion maven, whose style continues to captivate well into her 80s. With a master's degree from NYU under her belt, she exemplifies both intelligence and elegance.

Her love affair with fashion dates back to her youth, drawing inspiration from silver screen sirens like Marlena Dietrich and Lena Horne. Now, she graces the screens herself, featured in the documentary "Advanced Style," shining a spotlight on older New York City women who defy age with their fashion-forward flair.

In a recent interview with Soul Train, she shared a powerful message: "I want older women to know that there is life after the ages of 50 and 60. I want them to know that you must be active — you cannot just sit there and twiddle your thumbs. They should keep active, do something they like, and get involved because life is for the living."

Her words serve as a reminder that vitality knows no age and that embracing life with passion and purpose is the true key to timeless elegance.

CREAMY ROASTED POTATO SALAD RECIPE

đź‘Ť Live Well Now Approved

You Will Need:

1 1/2 pounds baby yellow potatoes, halved (or quartered if large)

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

3/4 teaspoon salt, divided

1/3 cup whole-milk plain strained (Greek-style) yogurt

1/3 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

1/4 cup finely chopped mixed tender herbs (such as tarragon, dill and parsley), plus more for garnish

1 small clove garlic, grated

2 teaspoons country-style Dijon mustard

2 teaspoons white-wine vinegar or champagne vinegar

1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss potatoes, oil and 1/2 teaspoon salt together on a large rimmed baking sheet until evenly coated. Spread into an even layer, arranging the potatoes cut-sides down.

2. Roast until golden brown on the bottoms, about 25 minutes. Using a thin spatula or tongs, flip the potatoes; roast until tender and lightly golden all over, about 10 minutes. Let the potatoes cool slightly on the baking sheet, 5 to 10 minutes.

3. Meanwhile, whisk yogurt, mayonnaise, onion, herbs, garlic, mustard, vinegar, pepper and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt together in a large bowl until well combined.

4. Stir the potatoes into the yogurt mixture until evenly coated. Transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with herbs, if desired.
