On This Day In Women’s History:

January 10, 1898: Katharine Blodgett was born.

Katharine Blodgett, physicist and inventor, first woman research scientist for General Electric’s Schenectady, NY laboratory (1920), first woman awarded a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Cambridge (1926), received eight U.S. patents, most famously for inventing low-reflectance “invisible” glass.

💃🏻 Miriam Roskin Berger: A Lifetime Dedicated to Dance Therapy's Evolution

Miriam Roskin Berger, a pioneer in dance therapy, devoted her career to fusing movement and psychotherapy to enhance individuals' well-being.

In her 60s, Berger excelled, leading New York University's Dance Education Program and serving as President of the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA). By 63, she earned her doctorate and established ADTA's International Panel, expanding dance therapy programs across Europe.

Throughout her 70s, Berger initiated a training program at the 92NY Harkness Dance Center, and in her 80s, she continued teaching at the center and NYU. With a background studying under dance legends like Alwin Nikolais and Martha Graham, Berger also performed with the Jean Erdman Theater of Dance during the 1960s. Her commitment to enhancing lives through dance therapy remains an inspiring example of lifelong dedication and passion.
