🚀 Journey to the Stars: The Inspiring Legacy of Dr. Peggy Whitson

Dr. Peggy Whitson, renowned for her exceptional career spanning 37 years in aerospace, boasts an impressive list of firsts in space exploration. She holds several groundbreaking records, including commanding the International Space Station, overseeing pivotal roles at NASA, and leading private space missions for Axiom.

Despite her remarkable achievements, Dr. Whitson didn't embark on her first spaceflight until the age of 42. Her journey to NASA's astronaut training program was marked by persistence, having applied five times before securing her spot.

She emphasized using rejection as an opportunity for growth and skill enhancement.

Transitioning from NASA to Axiom Space, Dr. Whitson serves as the director of human spaceflight, steering initiatives to establish the world's inaugural commercial space station. While the primary aim of Axiom is to broaden access to space, Dr. Whitson, a biochemistry expert, aspires to exploit microgravity's potential for advancing medical treatments, especially cancer.

Her tenure in space involved conducting extensive scientific experiments, often employing herself as a subject. Notably, her research on bone density loss in zero gravity led to significant diet-based findings that could prevent such effects.

At 63, Dr. Whitson values her age as a leadership asset, utilizing her expertise to mentor and guide individuals in the spaceflight sector. Encouraging future generations, especially women, she emphasizes the importance of embracing challenges, pushing boundaries, and accumulating life experiences for personal and professional growth beyond expectations.

5-MINUTE MASSAGED KALE SALAD

đź‘Ť Live Well Now Approved

You Will Need:

4-8 bunches of kale leaves , stems removed (about 6-10 ounces)

4 ripe avocado

Juice of one lemon

2 teaspoon fresh ginger , minced

1 teaspoon fresh garlic , minced

Nama Shoyu , or tamari, to taste

20-24 drops liquid stevia (or honey, to taste)

Directions:

1. To get started, simply scoop out the flesh of the ripe avocado, and mash it together with the lemon juice, ginger, garlic, Nama Shoyu and liquid stevia.

2.When you've got what looks like a smooth guacamole, add in the raw kale leaves and start using your hands to massage the dressing throughout. Squeeze well between your hands, almost like kneading bread dough, for a good 2-3 minutes.

3. When the leaves are dark and wilted, give them a taste to make sure the flavor is to your liking. Adjust any flavors as necessary.

4. Add your favorite toppings, such as roasted red peppers and green onions, and enjoy!
