Empowering Innovation: Carolyn Aronson's Haircare Journey at 51

Carolyn Aronson's remarkable journey in the haircare industry began at the age of 51 when she took the reins as CEO and founder of “It's a 10 Haircare”. Her breakthrough came in 2005 with the creation of the Miracle Leave-In conditioner, a product that now sells a staggering 17 million bottles annually.

In 2017, Aronson made a pivotal move, buying out her partner and becoming the sole owner of her company. This made “It's a 10 Haircare” one of the few Hispanic- and female-owned brands in the industry and, notably, the first to air a Super Bowl commercial.

Under her leadership, the brand's growth soared. From being distributed in two countries in 2017, It's a 10 Haircare expanded to 73 countries by 2022.

Despite challenges early in life, having experienced foster care before being adopted, Aronson attributes her resilience and determination to her unconventional upbringing.

Carolyn Aronson's ascent as a pioneering entrepreneur at the age of 51 is a testament to her unwavering dedication and innovative spirit. Her story is a true inspiration and motivation.

SPINACH PUFFS TO TRY

đź‘Ť Live Well Now Approved

You Will Need:

1 tbsp. vegetable oil

1/3 c. onion, finely chopped

Kosher salt

2 cloves garlic, minced

4 oz. cream cheese, softened

2 eggs, divided

1 (10-oz.) package frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed as dry as possible

3/4 c. crumbled feta

2 tbsp. fresh dill, chopped

2 tsp. lemon zest

Freshly ground black pepper

Cooking spray

All-purpose flour, for rolling puff pastry

1 sheet from 1 (17.3-oz) package puff pastry, thawed in the refrigerator

Directions:

1. In a medium skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions and season with salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 4 to 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds more. Remove from heat.

2. In a large bowl, stir together cream cheese and 1 egg. Stir in garlic-onion mixture, spinach, feta, dill, and lemon zest and season with salt and pepper.

3. Grease 9 cups of a muffin tin with cooking spray. On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry sheet to a 12” square. Cut into 9 smaller squares, each about 4” wide. Ease each puff pastry square into a greased muffin cup, letting the corners hang over the sides. Add about 2½ tablespoons of filling to the center of each. Fold in pastry corners to meet in the center over the filling and pinch together. Refrigerate for 30 minutes (or freeze for 15 minutes).

4. Meanwhile, adjust an oven rack to center position and preheat the oven to 400°.

5. Beat remaining egg in a small bowl with 1 teaspoon water and brush on top of the chilled pastry.

6. Bake until puffed and golden brown on the bottom, about 25 minutes. Let cool slightly before lifting out of the muffin tin. Serve warm or at room temperature.
