Gertrude Elion, biochemist, one of only 10 women to win the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (1988).

Tosca Reno: From Divorce to Fitness Maven in Her 40s

Embarking on a bodybuilding journey in her 40s to navigate through the challenges of divorce, Tosca Reno's transformation is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Initially reaching 204 lbs, she began her fitness quest by utilizing a treadmill, shedding some weight but still grappling with flabbiness.

A pivotal moment in Reno's life came when a student's father, none other than fitness publisher Robert Kennedy, challenged her to venture into strength training and participate in a physique contest. As her physique sculpted and her strength soared, she not only gained physical prowess but also found the confidence to share her journey through fitness articles.

In a heartwarming twist of fate, Reno found her "happily ever after" by marrying Robert Kennedy. Now, at the age of 64, she is the New York Times best-selling author who has written Your Best Body Now and the Eat-Clean Diet series. She is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. Her story reflects resilience, empowerment, and a commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

BANANA-COCOA SOY SMOOTHIE

You Will Need:

1 banana

½ cup silken tofu

½ cup soymilk

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon honey or agave

Directions:

Slice banana and freeze until firm. Blend tofu, soymilk, cocoa and honey in a blender until smooth. With the motor running, add the banana slices through the hole in the lid and continue to puree until smooth.
